This program will help attendees to understand the effects of pain on the body, the different types of pain, and basic pain management principles which include both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment options. Attendees will learn how to better recognize pain in residents, assess the pain, and choose the most appropriate treatment options. Attendees will also leave with a better understanding of the different categories of medications for pain and how they work.
