The Assisted Living (AL) Regulations were updated and went into effect in June of 2018. Effective January 1, 2019, in order to become an AL Administrator individuals need to take 40 hours of training and pass a competency exam. CHCA and Margaret Ray, Consulting and Education Unlimited, began offering the new 40 hour training in November 2018. The course includes more than 20 hours of regulatory review as well as in-depth training on business operations, nutrition, resident rights, and psychosocial well-being in the elderly. This updated training includes the competency exam and successful attendees will be awarded their certificate at the end of the course.
